As a choral conductor ...
As a choral conductor, Jason strives for musical excellence while building a community of fellowship between the notes, pitches and rhythms.  "To me, choral singing is about being together.  It's about the experiencing the sounds of different voices in how they relate to each other and the acoustic environment while experiencing the togetherness of community while working together for the common good and for the betterment of each other.

Jason's strengths lie in several areas when working with choral ensembles.  One of the most important that Jason takes pride in, is choosing appropriate repertoire to help the ensemble sound the best it can while offering a challenge to build the musical skills of the ensemble.  Jason has been regarded as a dynamic conductor and uses gesture in addition to cognitive, kinesthetic, and affective teaching methods to address musical and extra-musical issues.  One of these extra-musical issues that Jason addresses with consistency is how singers in an ensemble vocalize.  Stressing the importance of healthy singing, Jason uses his own experience singing and listening within an ensemble to help direct the timbres that can be created in individual pieces.
